A Camarillo California Event at Maravilla Gardens
Here’s what I love about onelove photography … they don’t shoot ‘canned weddings’ … if you hire them, they will look at your wedding with fresh, new eyes! I have featured a ton of their work on Style Unveiled and I am never bored … I always am amazed at the uniqueness of their clicks. Take for instance the darling approach to the ‘first look’ that Kelly and Stephen had and the way their ‘first look’ was photographed … gorgeous, romantic, and creative!!! Love it all below!
I really loved the venue by itself. There are so many beautiful colors and flowers everywhere so I didn’t want to distract from the natural beauty. I kept the colors earthy and chic with elements of wood, burlap, old white picture frames and beautiful white blooms.
onelove photography had shot a wedding at Maravilla Gardens and I had seen their photos on the website. After calling many photographers, I didn’t seem to think I had found the one. Then Sara, from onelove photography gave me a call and I was sold. She was SO nice, flexible, and interested in what I wanted and what I was planning. I set up an engagement shoot and Jen was the photographer. She is truly a joy to be around and is one talented woman. You wouldn’t know how many great shots she can get in a matter of a half hour. At the wedding, she again was so pleasant and a calming spirit to be around. Stephen and I had a great time taking pictures with Jen and her assistant photographer Griffin. Again, one of our favorite memories was when we were taking pictures so that says a lot about them!
I was looking for an outdoor venue, but I am originally from the San Gabriel Valley which would be much too hot in September for an outdoor wedding. After looking at hundreds of venues online, my maid of honor sent me a link to Maravilla Gardens website. It didn’t take much convincing after that for me to book the venue. It is a gorgeous venue with flowers and plants everywhere. The views of the fields are breathtaking, and it is significantly cooler with the coastal breeze. I fell in love and Maravilla Gardens was wonderful all around.
Command Performance catered our food for the reception. It was AMAZING. Rob and the staff were so accommodating and thoughtful. And can I just say that the Jalapeno Mac and Cheese is to die for!!!
Elegant Designs in Bloom by Louellen designed our wedding day flowers. She is truly a talented woman. After talking only a minute with her about what I liked, she knew exactly what I wanted and was able to put it together, and work within our budget. When I showed up to the venue, the flowers and settings were beyond what I could have ever imagined. She is truly gifted and a joy to work with because she just gets it!
Although there is a lot of planning that goes on with a wedding, try to keep it simple and sentimental. ENJOY the planning process and do what you and your fiance want to do and try not to get worked up about the opinions of other people. On the day of the wedding be present in every moment, then talk about all of the things you loved and remembered the next day so you won’t forget! Happy planning, not every girl needs to be a bridezilla!
One of my bridesmaids, Sharlan Burrup, manages a bakery in Utah called Sweet Tooth Fairy. When I visited her there a few years ago, I tried their cupcakes and sweets and they literally were the most amazing sweets I have ever had. I had to have her do my cupcakes and wedding cake. She makes the BEST Pina Colada cupcakes, so we had that as our wedding cake and then had pina colada, carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes.
