A Malaga Washington Wedding with Rustic Details
I was shopping online and came across Heather Bayles’ website. I was drawn in by her portfolio and her bio. I loved that she was from Portland, OR because it is my birthplace and I feel a strong connection to the area. I thought she seemed like someone we would want to share in the festivities with and after our first conversation I knew she was the photographer for us. Her relaxed approach was exactly what we needed for the big day and her assistant was a gem. I would refer Heather Bayles to anyone and everyone! Thanks to my father Forrest this was possible.
Bloomers Flower & Garden House in downtown Wenatchee, Washington. The owner of the shop did the floral arrangements for my sister-in-laws wedding and they were gorgeous so I had to hire them. Bloomers did my bouquet, Andrew’s boutonniere and the bridesmaids bouquets. I’m very pleased with how everything turned out, it was well worth the expense. Thanks to my mom Lynn and step father Mike these gorgeous arrangements were possible.
Lauren: There are so many how do I just pick one? Well if I have to it would be the moment when I first saw Andrew in a private moment before guests arrived. I thought wow I’m the luckiest girl alive! Loved that moment and the moment after our vows walking back down the hill when Andrew picked me up and we had a private moment alone in the International Scout.
Andrew: My favorite moment was when I saw Lauren realize that I had hired a buddy to play her favorite song as she walked up the path to where we were getting married. After our vows, he played “our song” that we both love. She started crying–success!
I found the design for the invitations on Wedding Paper Divas. The invitations arrived shortly after I placed the order and the customer service was impeccable. I even received a thank you card from the employee who processed my order. I would highly recommend Wedding Paper Divas.
The inspiration for the theme or concept was vintage chic. I’ve always been very drawn to shabby chic and and the idea of everything eclectic being put together to create a specific mood/feeling. I loved the idea of using antique doors for tables, and finding chairs of all shapes and painting them a variety of colors. Because the space we were holding the wedding at was the Andrew’s parents house and it was very modern we wanted to offset is with this unique vintage style. The blue Mason jars as the centerpieces for the tables felt very county chic and with a wedding in Malaga you need a little bit of country tied in! My dress was truly the inspiration for the theme-the vintage/antique fabric and lace was where the entire concept began. Keeping within a budget will really entice creativity and with many family members helping we brought a vision to life!
