A Charleston Real Wedding at the Lowndes Grove Plantation

This wedding is gorgeously green and has everything a Southern 'charm' wedding should have ... including being held at a beautiful plantation!! We adore the details and love the interview with Elizabeth! Enjoy!

Our love of the South inspired our wedding day theme; we both adore historic homes and have always loved seemingly ordinary items that have a story. We are both fairly traditional and wanted our wedding to show our personalities. Details were everything to us, everything had a story! It was absolutely a must to get married under the oaks. Natural materials mixed with a bit of sparkle. Mint has always been one of my favorite colors so of course it had to have a place in our wedding! It was truly a Southern Affair under the Oaks!

We fell in love with Cheryl Joy Miner Photography! I found Cheryl after spotting another wedding under the oaks that she had photographed. We just knew we found our photographer the first time we talked. Amazing person and amazing photos!!!

Elizabeth: Standing admist our close friends and family overlooking the beautiful Ashley River looking into the eyes of my soon to be husband was the most exciting moment for me. All of the hard work of planning a wedding finally came together and we were focused on what really matters most, those precious words, I DO! This marked the beginning of a wonderful life with my LOVE, and what a memorable way to start our lives as husband and wife. In our favorite place, staring at 100 year old oaks and actually getting to call such a beautiful, historic plantation house our home for a few days!
Murray: Finally getting into our London cab at the end of the night and being able to focus on our lives together was the greatest feeling I have ever felt. Seeing our dreams come to life and being able to finally call my best friend my wife. There is nothing better than knowing you have found the one you will grow old with. Through all the ups and downs the one constant that will always be there for you at the end of the day with undying love.

The River House at Lowndes Grove Plantation really had everything our hearts desired.

The flavors we chose were red velvet for me and carrot cake for my groom:) We chose a three tiered, white fondant pressed with a lace pattern and topped with a little sparkle! Two crystal and gold brooches! Gorgeous and delicious! The desserts were baked by Fish Innovative Cuisine.

LaRaines Boutique in Atlanta is the perfect bridal shop, located in Virginia Highlands in an old historic home. Armed with my besties and my mom we found THE dress in just a few short hours. Sweetheart, tulle and lace = perfection!

What matters most is the LOVE you share, at the end of the day you will be married! The best part of the wedding is the beginning of your new life with your spouse. This day is about you and your spouse not anyone else. Stay calm and have fun! Soak in every moment! These are memories you will cherish forever.

We used Charleston Blooms for our wedding day flowers and cannot say enough nice things. So easy to work with! She really made all of our visions come to life!
