When I saw this gorgeous Jacksonville Florida wedding come through on Two Bright Lights (editor stuff ... lol) I was immediately inspired to start 2013 the way I have always wanted Style Unveiled to be ... filled with elegant, sophisticated, glamorous, ballroom style, beautiful weddings. While I can appreciate a rustic, shabby-chic wedding as much as the next person, I am definitely not as passionate about that type. So, my goal for 2013 is to feature what I love. If I don't truly love it, you won't see it on Style Unveiled. I am really excited for the new year to begin ... so enjoy one of my last posts in 2012 and look forward to a 2013 that is filled with chic elegance.
I wanted a classic, timeless, and traditional wedding. Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy were two style icons that inspired my wedding style. I wanted to incorporate the pearls and lace from my dress, the champagne color of the bridesmaids dresses and ribbon from my dress, and the bows from the back of the bridesmaids dresses into the different aspects of the wedding.
We chose Brooke Images because of their experience and mix of photos. When looking through the different photographs on their website we loved how there was a mix of traditional style photographs and modern style photographs. All of their pictures are high quality and very professional. We are very happy we chose Brooke Images as our wedding photographers and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional photographer.
We chose Alpha and Omega Event Consultants for our flowers. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and they really listened to what I wanted. The flowers were a mix of hydrangeas and roses. The way they blended the soft white with the blush pink in the different types of flowers turned out beautiful and classic... just the way I wanted it. The staff was professional, attentive to detail, and great to work with.
The best piece of advice we can give to brides and grooms is to remember to enjoy everything and don't sweat the small stuff. Remember to enjoy the planning process as well as the day itself because it goes by way too fast. At the end of the day it is about the two of you committing to share the rest of your lives with one another. All the other stuff will fall into place.
We chose Immaculate Conception Catholic Church as the site for our ceremony. We wanted a church ceremony and chose this church because of its tradition and beauty. The church was built in the early 1900's and the inside is breathtaking. We chose Epping Forest Yacht Club for our reception because of its classic and vintage feel. The mansion is absolutely beautiful and the views of the St. Johns River are great. Epping Forest was great because they did the food and the cake on site. Their staff provided excellent service and were so professional.
Our cake fit in with the classic concept of the wedding. It was done by Epping Forest Yacht Club. The cake was a white cake with a vanilla mousse filling with fresh strawberries. The icing was a cream French butter cream and had the classic pearl dot pattern. A champagne colored ribbon was tied around the top tier in a bow with a pearl brooch attached to the center. It was absolutely perfect... and delicious! Epping Forest did an amazing job and gave me exactly what I wanted.
