A Los Angeles Wedding at Calamigos Ranch

Kelly Mendoza with True Bliss Photography was my photographer.  Her pictures were exactly the style I was looking for.  She was so easy to work with and we got along very well.  I knew from our initial meeting that she was the photographer for me!

We got married at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu Beach.  The ranch has wine barrels everywhere and is filled with beautiful trees, ponds, and flowers.  The location inspired our winery based theme.  We decided to use the color green because we were surrounded by greenery! The coral came in to play because I fell in love with the bridesmaids dress we chose.

Well, first thing is HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!! It will make the whole experience less stressful and you actually get to enjoy your engagement without the stress that comes with planning a wedding. Also, on the day of the wedding try to forget about all the little details and embrace the moment, it will go by really fast so try to enjoy every second of it!

The location in Malibu was perfect for Tom and I.  When we were trying to figure out were to get married, I wanted to get married at a winery and Tom wanted to get married on the beach.  Our coordinator thought Calamigos Ranch in Malibu was perfect because it had the nature feel that both of us wanted but it was also a winery themed location minutes away from the beach.  It was the most beautiful location I have ever seen. I knew it was the spot when I saw it!

Our wedding cake was ordered from Wonder Bakery in Los Angeles.  It was a marble flavored cake and had ivory fondant with an ivory design to match the color of my wedding dress.  It was delivered to Calamigos Ranch and our florist and coordinator, Desiree Chavez from Absolutely You Special Events decorated it for us with green cymbidium orchids.

Desiree Chavez from Absolutely You Special Events was our coordinator. AMAZING! She was very patient with me and had great ideas and suggestions, always shopped around for the best prices and did a great job on coordinating the day-of and planning with me for an entire year.
