I always love it when our featured real wedding couples answer the 'best moment of the day' question ... and I usually find myself brought to tears when I read the answers.  Anthony definitely brought the tears with his answer ... so romantic!!!  I love this 'east meets west' wedding ... you gotta check out the Chinese Lion Dancer photos ... such a fun addition to the reception!

XO~ Heather

Anthony and I can be pretty simple people. We did not want staged or dramatic wedding pictures and wanted someone who could just capture us together.  We were fortunate to find John Park, along with his friends Jon Kim (2nd photographer), Myron Kim and Andrew Oh (cinematographers) for our big day.  They are all good friends and make a great team!

Alice: My most memorable moment was dancing the first dance to my parent’s favorite Chinese love song with my father and new husband.  Another most cherished moment was receiving a vintage pearl necklace that my mother gave me as a wedding gift on our wedding day. My mother and I spent a few weekends at the flea market picking out the perfect pendent. She then designed and hand strung a pearl necklace for me. It was the best gift a bride could ever receive and remember on her wedding day!

Anthony: The best moment of the wedding day was seeing my beautiful bride walking down the aisle.  The light was perfect, the weather was perfect and she was perfect.  I remember bits and pieces since everything seemed to fly by so quickly but I definitely remember her walking down the aisle.

Wedding planning can be stressful and frustrating at times. Stay focused and keep it about the both of you. Details matter but may not always go as planned. Know that everything will work out and be perfect in its own special way.

East meets west, both Anthony and I are Chinese. Though we wanted a less traditional outdoor and rustic venue. We also wanted to keep some many of our Chinese wedding heritage and served a traditional 10 course banquet dinner.  Our menu included dishes like Walnut Shrimp, Long Life Noodles and Fresh Garlic and Peppered Lobster. The dishes were served family style and it was one big feast!! It put a good spin on things and we were so happy to incorporate the symbolic tradition. We used Hotel Banquet in Orange County for the dinner reception.

I am like a big kid while Anthony is a quite romantic.  Both Anthony and I knew we wanted a wedding that was rustic and fun, yet simple and elegant. We served kettle corn at the cocktail reception and had giant bubble wands for the little guests. For dessert, we served Krispie Kreme donuts, heart shaped lavender cookies, animal cookies, gourmet marshmallows and jellybeans.  I wore white ballet flats and he wore a polka dot bow tie. From my wedding bouquet to the Where’s Waldo Coloring Kits for the kids, everything was personalized and inspired by all of our favorite things.

We hired The Immortals, Chinese Lion Dancers to open up the dinner reception. Chinese Lion Dancing is a huge tradition and typically used for big celebrations such as weddings and holidays.  It was great way to kick off our evening and entertain our family and friends before the dinner reception.  We hired Asian American Disc Jockey for our dj services.
