A Nashville Wedding at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center

Around here, we LOVE elegant ballroom-style wedding receptions ... they make us want to drink champagne, dance the night away, be romantic, and celebrate!!! This wedding makes us want to party ... the lighting in the reception room is unbelievable and the decor is stunning in all the right ways. This is the type of wedding that makes you want to go to a wedding! Enjoy!
XO~ Heather

We knew immediately after booking our venues and confirming our wedding date that we wanted John and Lindsey Bamber of Bamber Photography to be our photographers!! I grew up in the same small town as Lindsey and she and her sister and cousins went to school with my sisters and me. I had always loved John and Lindsey's work and I was so excited that they were available for our wedding! John kept us happy and laughing throughout our engagement shoot and our wedding, and I was so glad to be able to work with photographers that we already knew and were comfortable with. The photos turned out beautifully and I cannot say enough about how lucky and grateful we are to have been able to work with them!

Both our ceremony and reception venues had beautiful details and architecture, so we tried to keep the decor simple and elegant with as much white as possible. We did not have a theme aside from a general goal of modern elegance.

Our wedding stationery was designed using FineStationery.com. Their software was great and really demonstrated what the end product would look like. I loved working with them because the software was so much better than what I found on so many other sites, and their prices were excellent. They also have online chat available with their employees and reps so that you can ask questions about formatting, fonts, ordering, and anything else. They were wonderful to work with!

Our florist was CarryAnn Misamore and her business name is Fresh by CarryAnn. She was unbelievably wonderful!!!! She made every vision I brought to her a reality, and then some, and all within a limited budget. She is so wonderful to work with and I cannot say enough great things about her. Her floral designs were incredible, she went out of her way to locate a very specific candelabra that I had searched for everywhere, she gave me extremely detailed estimates and invoices so I would know exactly what we were getting, and she was extremely prompt with responses and emails. All business elements aside, CarryAnn was SO sweet and wonderful and has such a fantastic personality that made me love working with her all the more! We were taking photographs outside the reception venue before going inside, and I noticed a lady standing far away watching and waiting. She waited for probably 20-30 minutes while we finished taking pictures. I did not realize until we finished the photographs and I got closer to her that it was CarryAnn! She was waiting just to let me know that everything had been set up (I had not had to call her at all or check on anything all day-- I knew it would be taken care of!) and to make sure that I didn't need anything. I have recommended her to all of my engaged friends!

We chose West End United Methodist Church for our ceremony because it was Matthew's church from when he was at Vanderbilt University, and I had attended several times too and felt so warmly welcomed by the congregation and particularly by Reverend John Feldhacker, who performed our service. We are now members and I love being able to return to the church where we were married!
We chose the Schermerhorn Symphony Center for our reception for several key reasons. It had both the large indoor space that our guest list and the August weather mandated, plus the outdoor cocktail reception area that Matthew really wanted. It was also central to downtown Nashville so all of our out of town guests would have a very easy time with transportation and lots of entertainment throughout the wedding weekend. I also loved that it was a venue that did not require us to hire a lot of outside vendors-- SSC had tables, chairs, flatware, china, linens, Bruce Pittman to help coordinate everything, in-house catering, and just about anything else you need to throw a party. They were amazing, especially Bruce!

Don't get too caught up in the details! Take a step back and remember what is important-- you are marrying the love of your life! The dresses, cake, flowers, food, and drinks will have no bearing on the success of your marriage, so don't sweat it and always focus on keeping a realistic perspective.
