A Santa Barbara Wedding Coordinated by La Fete Weddings

Earlier today I posted about how much I am loving all the sparkle on the site lately! Well, how appropriate that my afternoon post showcases a real wedding that added sparkle and metallic details! These details truly are the star of the show and make this Santa Barbara real wedding one to remember and be inspired by :)
XO~ Heather

A family friend recommended that we look into Jennifer Eileen as a photographer for our wedding. After looking at her work, you could tell that she knows what she's doing and she knows how to have fun! Since Michael and I live in Lexington, KY (Mike's hometown) we needed someone who was flexible and easy to work with. And the absolute right person for this was Jen! Our engagement photo shoot was fun and our favorite shots were the ones filled with laughter. On our wedding day, Jen was just as excited as we were and her energy was infectious. Several of the bridal party members commented on how she was professional and easygoing. Jen was able to capture every moment so that our wedding photographs tell a story of love and happiness.

Since we live in Lexington, KY and were planning a wedding in my home state of California, we knew that we needed to hire a coordinator to help out with all the details. I put in a phone call to Colette and Kaitlin from La Fete Weddings and I was immediately impressed by the creativity of the mother-daughter duo and how much they cared about each and every one of their clients. La Fete played an absolutely instrumental role in our wedding day! Colette and her team have great relationships with vendors and they have the respect and admiration of the whole wedding world! They really want your wedding day to reflect your style and personality and they go above and beyond to make that happen. La Fete is extremely organized and their wedding ideas and recommendations are absolutely amazing!

Our ceremony was beautiful and truly unique. With the help of our wedding coordinator, La Fete, we created a romantic and original setting at the altar. A tall hampton-style arbor with billowing drapes and gorgeous flower "wraparounds" set the stage. A large white mirror was hung on the back of the structure, so that guests could see our reflection throughout our vows! Guests loved this unique feature because they could see every emotion (and trust me, Michael and I shared plenty!)

To future brides and grooms, your wedding day will be wonderful-- we can promise you that. Take time to enjoy yourselves. Mike and I never left the dance floor at our wedding. We laughed, we ate, and we danced right along side all of our guests! Be carefree and don't fret about the little things that might not go as planned. I got wine spilled on me and I smelled like a mini bar, but I never let it bother me and I kept on dancing! (Though I was glad that I had brought a little sequin number to change into just in case I got hot!) In the "getaway car" on the way home, we had fun overusing the words "wife" and "husband." Enjoy these special moments with your significant other!

The theme for our wedding was "Luxe Metallic." Bronze, silver, and gold added pizzazz and sparkle while blush and champagne tones kept our wedding warm and romantic. I thought it was time for metallics to stop serving as accent colors and to start taking center stage!
The colors progressed from soft and sweet to vibrant and fun throughout our wedding day. Our ceremony overlooking the Pacific ocean showcased dusty pink, champagne, and gray colors. A hint of glitz was added by putting a mirror and chandelier at the alter. At the reception there were crystals hanging from soft pastel flower center pieces, mercury vases, and lit candles all atop metallic linens. In the party room, we had FUN! Sequins, shimmer, and sparkle in every metallic color were put on cocktail and dessert tables. The chandelier made another appearance above an all mirror bar. Pink and purple colored lights lit up the walls and dance floor creating a truly energetic atmosphere.

Lazaro Press and Design deserves a standing ovation for their hard work on all of our wedding stationery. I had stumbled across a laser-cut design that I thought would be perfect for our Santa Barbara wedding. Tracy from Lazaro Press took the laser cut idea and translated the invitation suite into a work of art. Our save-the-dates were classy and completely original. The laser cut bronze paper had to be thick, yet the save-the-date looked dainty and elegant. The invitations were letter-pressed and completed with a laser-cut band. We also carried the laser-cut theme into our wedding day by designing a unique cut-out dinner menu. Lazaro Press was easy to work with, creative, and timely!

Camilla Svensson Burns designed our wedding day floral arrangements. We were a great duo because I know absolutely nothing about flowers, and Camilla knows EVERYTHING! She knew what flowers would be in season, where she would get them, and how they would all fit together to make a beautiful creation. She listens to your ideas and offers ways to put that dream into action! I loved the big bundle of flowers that she created to wrap around the arbor pillars at our ceremony. The flowers framed the structure and it was truly romantic. My bridal bouquet was full of white roses that were just blooming and the silver bulbs complimented our metallic theme. The dinner centerpieces were bold and classy, with metallic touches at every table. Camilla is pure genius!

Sweet and Saucy Shop made our cake along with an assortment of mini desserts. Mike and I always love to "sample," so we decided to give our guests a variety of delicious dessert options. Our 3-tier cake was nothing short of amazing! The metallic silver fondant dots added a fun element to our classic cake. The large sugar flower on top mirrored the flower design on my wedding dress. We also had glitter bon bons as a surprise favor for our guests. Once you took a bite into the chocolatey goodness your lips matched the metallic color of the candy!
