Advice From Our Brides: Alice, Anne, and Wendy

You are a planning bride.  You are buying all the books.  You are subscribing to the best magazines.  You are constantly on your computer looking at the top wedding blogs.  Pinning has become your second job.  Your wedding coordinator is on speed dial.  You are a planning bride!!  We wanted to give you something that we feel is so helpful:  advice from our fabulous featured couples.  They have walked down the aisle, they have said 'we do', and they have partied like crazy at their reception.  Then, when all the craziness calmed and they returned from their honeymoons, they whispered to us their 'best advice' ... and we're passing it on to you :)  Today we have chosen to share the advice from Alice, Anne, and Wendy.  Tune in next week for the next 3 brides who will share their wedding day tips!

From Alice and Arvi: 

-  Get a day of wedding planner at least! Having someone to make sure everything goes smoothly the day of the wedding is invaluable - you don't have to think about much and you can concentrate on being present and enjoying yourself. They also have a great list of people they have worked with before that can help you narrow down your searches for vendors. A wedding planner will also help guide you through the wedding lingo.

-  Read the contracts thoroughly.

-  Hire vendors that will help to make your day easy. We were very lucky to have met and hired the people that we did because each of them made it easy for us and they all helped us to relax on the days leading up to the wedding and especially on the day of the wedding.

-  Taking pictures before the wedding is a great way to get rid of the nerves from all the anticipation.

-  Be mindful of the present and try to soak in and remember as much of the day as you can since it all goes by really fast!

-  RELAX! Something is bound to go wrong, or "differently than you had planned" on the day of the wedding. It's out of your control. The only control you have is how you react to it so just enjoy yourself, let go and laugh with your friends and family.

Even though we had a small wedding, if I could do it again I would have hired a wedding planner! The vendor selection process was much more time consuming then I thought it would be.

Try to enjoy yourselves, because it will help get you through to the finish line. Food tasting, venue tours, cake tasting, and the like do not have to be all business.
