An Orange County Wedding at Rancho Las Lomas

I love that Ashley and Jared didn't 'fight' their venue, but rather worked with it when they incorporated their wedding day theme, which used zebra print!! So darling! Love it all below!

The outdoor venue we chose played a large part in the concept of our wedding. The overall theme carried a rustic and romantic feel. We chose to play up the zebra print in small ways at our wedding as there are zebras and other exotic animals on the property. Our ceremony took place outside among big beautiful trees and a creek.

The catering was by 24 Carrots. They provided a delicious meal for us and our guests. We chose four appetizers to circulate during the cocktail hour and the trays were always empty because the were so delicious. My favorite appetizer was sweet potato fries with honey mustard dressing. The dinner consisted of a salad to start, followed by a combination plate of fish and steak, and asparagus. It was not easy to choose the menu for the wedding as all the food we tasted was so yummy.

We chose our photographer for many reasons. Christine Bentley is fantastic at what she does! Her work is artistic and sentimental. She captures the details and the special moments of the entire event. She is professional, personable, and has fun too. It is clear she loves what she does! Christine and I have worked together many times before. The first time we met, I was the maid of honor and makeup artist in a wedding she shot. I was thrilled with the pictures and knew she would one day shoot my wedding too. The pictures are the most important memory you can have from your special day! You definitely get amazing quality from Christine.

DJ Sota was our wedding DJ. He was an excellent addition to our evening. He was a part of our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Because the reception was inside, volume was important to us. We didn't want guests leaving because the music was too loud. He filled the room with sound without overdoing it. He kept the flow of the reception moving right along. Most importantly, he played great music!!!

Cupcakes, cupcakes, and more cupcakes!!! They were delicious! We tiered and cascaded cupcakes all over the cake table and it turned out better than I could have ever expected. We cut an oversized cupcake for the cake cutting ceremony. We had an assortment of red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla ... Something for everyone!!! They were baked by Sweet Lilikoi Patesserie.

The planning can be overwhelming and tedious. Make sure to remember the big picture and don't forget reasons why you're getting married in the first place. It should be a wonderful and joyous event so enjoy the journey together. There will be hiccups along the way but it's all going to work itself out in the end. Have fun and kiss a lot throughout the process!

Rancho Las Lomas was the only site that I really truly had my heart set on for the venue of our wedding. It was the perfect blend of nature and elegance we were looking for. It was romantic and rustic all wrapped into one venue. The outdoor ceremony site was beautiful in April and the weather was amazing. The option of outdoor or indoor reception was also important to us too. It was nice the guest didn't have to relocate during the event, especially because we had many out of towners in attendance. There is so much about this venue that is so special and fit our needs to a T.
