COLORS don’t come any juicier than those that saturate “Bombay Dreams”, this Bollywood-inspired styled shoot. It is splashed with generous helpings of gorgeous reds, gold, purples and more shades of pink than even OPI has names for!
Bollywood, the informal term popularly used for the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), is one of the largest centers of film production in the world. It attracts thousands of aspiring actors and actresses, all hoping for a break in the industry. Every day, thousands of models, beauty contestants, television actors, theatre actors and even common people flock to Mumbai with the hope and dream of becoming a star.
The over-the-top table décor along with the model’s styling was inspired by the glitz and glamour associated with Indian stardom!

Bollywood films are multi-million dollar productions with lavish budgets, ornate sets and props. Storylines are influenced by cultural themes and tend to be melodramatic, frequently employing formulaic ingredients such as star-crossed lovers and angry parents, love triangles, family status, and dramatic reversals of fortune etc. - but always as ostentatious as possible!

Bollywood actors and actresses take on a larger than life role in people’s everyday lives so the desserts and candy were playfully named after leading ladies and actors of the current generation.

There is a strong Indian tradition of narrative mythology, history, and fairytales via song and dance. Hindi movies are largely musicals where songs and dances are used to articulate and enhance the elements of fantasy. The specialty drinks are named after a popular film ‘dance’ songs of modern times.

Wedding sequences are very popular in Hindi cinema. The dresses, henna, jewelry etc of the actresses have been a continuous source of inspiration for modern indian brides all across the globe.
