Engagement Shoot at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach

Style Unveiled, as hard as we try, knows that sometimes it takes a woman who's walking in your same 'heels' to help with something like planning a day as big as a wedding.  And while we will always be here to help with inspirational photos, real weddings, vendor suggestions, venue ideas, engagement photo ideas, and more ... we want to bring you something priceless ... Advice from brides who are doing the same as you (right now!!) ... PLANNING THEIR WEDDING :)  Our blog addition, Bride in the City will give you inside info from other brides to help you along the way and make you feel like you're not the only one :)  So ... get ready to bond with Bride in the City guest:  Angeli Labayen

When did you become engaged?

When is the big day?

Who are the wedding vendors that you have already decided to hire?

Photographer- Hoffmann Photographer
DJ- Reddell Productions
Flowers- Flowers by Rosemary
Caterers/Cake- Affordable Catering
Photo Booth- KC Photobooth

What is your venue and why did you choose it?

Our venue is located in the Grand Ballroom in the Historical Scarritt Properties Building in Downtown Kansas City. We decided to go with this venue because of the location and the unique architecture. We have a lot of 'out of town guests' so wanted to have shops, restuarants, bars and entertainment in close proximity.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

I am most excited because I get to marry my best friend! Damon and I have been 'dating' for over 10 years and I am excited to make it official! Also I am excited because we are going to have everyone that we love under one roof to share our BIG day.

Is there anything you are nervous about for your wedding day?

With all the days hustling and bustling, I am most nervous about having our wedding day pass too quickly.

What is your wedding theme or concept going to be?  What inspired it?

There really isn't a theme for our wedding but the best way to describe our vision is 'vintage chic', a mix of vintage glam and modern elegance. This concept is inspired by our personal styles.

Did you decide to hire a wedding coordinator?  Why did you decide this?

No we decided against hiring a wedding coordinator because I have my best friend and future mother-in-law that knows us best and knows our style.

Where are you planning to go for your honeymoon?

Our honeymoon is yet to be deterimined but we are looking to go somewhere tropical and relaxing. Hawaii possibly?!

What are some of your favorite wedding planning blogs and tools?

- Grey likes weddings
- Style me pretty
- The knot.com/ magazine
- Martha Stewart Weddings
- Brides
- Modern Brides

Is your husband-to-be helping with the planning?  What are his jobs?

Damon and I have tackled the 'BIG Day' planning together as a team. He was there to set the budget and he was there to meet with all the vendors.

What is your best advice to brides who are currently planning their wedding?

Enjoy being engaged! Planning and prepping for 'The BIG Day' should be fun and you should cherish the moments that you share with your fiance planning life :)

Are you planning to see each other before the ceremony for photos?  Why or why not?

We really didn't have a choice on this one because our church is only available in the evening and we need to take pictures prior to the sun going down.

What are 3 words that describe how you feel right now?

Excited
Anxious
Overwhelmed
