Looking for a beautiful idea for your wedding day flowers? Why not throw in a bit of Tuscany? We LOVED the flowers from the Tuscany wedding styled shoot we featured and thought we'd ask Susanna of French Buckets Florist a few questions about them!
Q. Which flowers spoke to you for this Tuscany styled shoot and why did you choose them?
The flowers that spoke to me for the Tuscany styled shoot were flowers you would find in an Italian countryside. Such as Lavender, garden roses, herbs, thyme, sage, vines. Local fruit and vegetables. I wanted it to feel very local. Like the Village brought things they grow in their gardens to share with their community.
Q. Why did you choose the colors you chose and how do you feel the color of the flowers in a wedding can highlight the best parts of the venue?
I chose the colors because we have a very earthy backdrop. All the walls are adobe and stone. The flower colors I wanted to be rich with texture and color. The eggplant roses I wanted to accent the wine theme and cream to give it a lift off the table. I didn't want everything to be too dark. The color of burgundy wines, cream and green compliment the natural background without losing the native feel. My main goal was to show that a beautiful elegant event can take place without being pretentious. Gorgeous color and a feel of the local countryside feels both genuinely connected and inviting.
Q. Were these flowers seasonal and if so, what season are they best in?
The garden roses and herbs are somewhat seasonal. The best time of year for these are early spring and summer.
