Mad Men Engagement Session

Mad Men Engagement Session

The photos below are from a REAL engagement shoot!!  Brian of Callaway Gable submitted these to us and we were so incredibly impressed by the theme:  Mad Men.  If you've not seen this show, it's not one to miss, and the photos below clearly invoke by the look, feel, and theme of Mad Men 120%.  We love the colors, the location (a glass house!!!), and oh-my-goodness do we love the bride's style!  Read more from Brian about this shoot and the inspiration at the bottom of this article

Brian shared a few words about this shoot with us:

Rachelle and Thom’s Mad Men Inspired Cinematic Engagement Shoot was photographed on location at the Neutra VDL Research House in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Built 75 years ago by architect Richard Neutra (who Time magazine once remarked as “second only to lordly Frank Lloyd Wright”), the VDL House is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and sits directly across from the Silver Lake Reservoir. It is a glass house with huge outside sun louvers (which are amazing), water roofs (which are now dry), roof-top and balcony gardens and a third-story penthouse. The design of the house was radical at the time, and perfect today as the backdrop for Rachelle and Thom’s period-piece engagement shoot.

I LOVE this shoot - I know I probably shouldn't say this - but finally a true Mad Men shoot. I've seen so many Mad Men inspired shoots lately, but they just don't say "Mad Men" to me. This one definitely does and I LOVE that blue dress.

Brilliant! Very sexy. Love the images of the bride-to-be on the couch - very 'Mad Men' indeed. Nice touch shooting through the glass as well.
