Retro Decadence Wedding

Retro Decadence Wedding

We love LOVE love this styled shoot ... it reminds us of this real wedding article that we have forever obsessed over ... retro decadence (don't those two words together just give you chills all over?!?).  I was especially turned on by the use of mercury glass vases, which are a personal favorite of mine.  After you drool over all the photos below, be sure and check out the written description by Misty of Luxe Event Production!

DESCRIPTION
While designing this Luxe Style Wedding Inspiration shoot we wanted to give a little wink and a nod to the golden era of 1940's Glam, so it was a perfect choice when setting the scene in Portland's posh Hotel deLuxe. Styled in the "Screening Room" of the downtown Portland hotel we styled an inspiration filled scene that  decadently displayed the sophistication of the 1940's art deco vibe.  Glamorous, swanky and continental we're our main objectives when creating this inspiration; from the richly colored floral to the sparkling cut crystal this Retro Decadence inspiration shoot was opulent to say the least.

Wealthy with theme we set the tables with rose gold plated flatware and ornately patterned gold china while placing  a scalloped silver plate charger under every other plate, giving the table a different look that created more layers and intrigue.

Every table had a slightly different centerpiece design, we used vintage ruby red glass for votive holders and vintage stemmed silver bowls to arrange the floral. Tables showcased an assortment of vintage books to add height, a collection of glass and metal votive and strands of chandelier crystals hung from tall stemmed floating candle holders,  which added just the right amount of glam to the setting.

We featured a cordial and cigar bar as to serve as the guest entertainment and mini dark chocolate cakes with opal glazed cream atop instead of a traditional wedding cake. The cigar bar featured vintage Sinatra Cigars that were personally made for Sinatra himself by cigar maker Felipe Gregorio while the cordial bar also served vintage colas for the non alcohol drinking guests.

Florals, crafted by PETALOS were rich with texture and were loaded with sincerely colorful blooms. Linens, from the Party Place were a golden opalescent crushed satin on the cocktail and bar tables while a dazzling gold satin rest on the guest dining tables.

The entire inspiration was so fun to design, we even used mirrored napkins rings as tea light holders, just to add a touch more sparkle and played the classic Breakfast at Tiffany's movie behind the scene as to lend a bit of romance and charm.

We hope you love the photos as much as we loved styling it for you.
