When is the big day?

What was your engagement shoot like?  What was it like working with your photographer?

Selecting White Rabbit Studios for the photography has been the easiest and best decision in our entire wedding planning! I stumbled upon a couple of wedding photos on the internet and instantly knew I wanted this photographer. Without a second guess (and as soon as my fiancée agreed) I booked our engagement and wedding photos with them.

Joe and I spent several days cutting down trees and clearing out brush to reveal a beautiful waterfall in hopes to create a perfect engagement session environment. The waterfall was used to power a sawmill owned by Joe’s family several decades back. In fear that we weren’t going to be finished in time, several family members, including his grandparents, volunteered to help. Needless-to-say the location is near and dear to our hearts.

Due to the amount of attention and effort put towards the waterfall, it didn’t hit me until the night before that we had not prepared outfit, poses, etc. Considering Joe and I are not used to being in front of a camera, on the morning of the engagement session I was clueless on what to expect or what we were supposed to do. Our sweet photographer made it easy to be comfortable and affectionate for the photos. Ashley Vaughn has such a talented eye and was determined to get perfect shots. She even hiked down a cliff! I’m so thankful that we found White Rabbit Studios to capture our love and fondest memories.

Who are the wedding vendors that you have already decided to hire?

We have selected vendors that were recommended by friends and family:

Madison Town and Country provided me with friendly service and beautiful bridal/bridesmaid dresses. They recommend bringing pictures of dresses to get an idea of exactly what I want. The ladies listened to every word and want. I quickly and confidently I said, “Yes to the dress”. I fell in love with the SECOND dress!

Our flowers and rentals are being provided by Talk of the Town. People as far as 75 miles recommended this vendor with promises that the owner has wonderful vision of what a bride wants.

What is your venue and why did you choose it?

Our ceremony will be at Gorham’s Bluff in the small town of Pisgah, AL (which is near Scottsborow). The view from the bluff is absolutely breathtaking. I knew the first moment we pulled into the parking lot many months before he popped the question that we would get married there!

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

Definitely the most exciting part of our wedding day will be committing to one another, unconditionally, for the rest of our lives and being able to share this moment with our friends and family. I am so blessed to be loved by such an incredible man.

Is there anything you are nervous about for your wedding day?

I am most nervous about saying our vows in front of 150+ people. Not only is public speaking a pure nightmare, but I am also guaranteed to cry! Ha-Ha! At the same time I’m looking forward to it, because exchanging vows will be one of the most significant and happiest moments of my life.

What is your best advice to brides who are currently planning their wedding?

Enjoy the process! If you get stressed out, take a breather and finish planning at a later time. I want every detail to have positive energy! When I feel the anxiety start to rise I visualize standing at the arbor with Joe, holding his hands, and looking into his eyes. There is no happier place in my mind! :)

Don’t forget to share the planning process with close friends and family! It means more to them than you would think.

Are you planning to have a 'first look' and photos before the wedding ceremony?

Absolutely! I’m looking forward to the brief privacy and intimacy with him before the ceremony. I’m so happy that we have White Rabbit Studios to capture that moment!

What is your wedding theme or concept going to be?  What inspired it?

The theme of our wedding is outdoorsy-rustic. I’m going to try my best to incorporate the wild flowers, trees, and anything else I can find on the property into the reception. The wild flowers will be used for centerpieces. We plan on cutting down pipe trees to build an arbor and a guard rail near the cliff. Several trees will be decorated with varies pictures, lights, and pom-poms.

What are 3 words to describe how you are feeling right now?
