What is your venue and why did you choose it?

Ben and I are getting married in Bridgeport, Valencia. We wanted a ceremony on the beach but both grew up in Santa Clarita Valley. Bridgeport is surrounded by man made likes and rivers so for us it was the best of both worlds.. The location has a lake front vibe but is close to friends and family.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

To be honest, I am most excited about marrying my best friend. To me, the ceremony is the most important part of our big day. Ben and I have been dating for eight years. I can’t wait to walk down the aisle and promise the rest of my life to him. As cheesy as it might sound, he will be officially mine... finally.

Is there anything you are nervous about for your wedding day?

I am incredibly nervous to read my vows. Probably because I cry like a baby every time I try to write them. I want Ben to know how strongly I feel about him at that exact moment and I want every emotion to translate in perfect English. I am pretty sure I will just stand at the alter and sob in some un-comprehendible “Bride-Babble” but I am going to try to keep my cool.

What is your wedding theme or concept going to be?  What inspired it?

The theme of my wedding is going to be a little different. It is going to be super glamorous with silver, deep purple and rhinestones. It is also going to be totally funky. I am having minimal flowers and all of the centerpieces are going to be made with ostrich and peacock feathers. There won't be any traditional decorations but the entire event will be very beautiful and INCREDIBLY fun. I did not really have any inspiration I just think up these crazy ideas and run with it.

Did you decide to hire a wedding coordinator?  Why did you decide this?

I did not hire a wedding coordinator. My mother is an event planner so by default, she "gets" to do my wedding. Thank goodness she is one of the most talented and creative people I know. It also helps that she has hundreds of boxes of decorations to choose from. Now if you asked her, she would tell you that I am a giant pain. The ideas I have for my wedding don’t match anything she’s done before and now she has about a hundred more boxes ;)
 THANKS MOM!

Where are you planning to go for your honeymoon?

Ben and I planned our honeymoon almost first thing. We both love tropical locations and cruising. It was very easy for us to choose a Carnival Caribbean Cruise (say that three times fast) as our destination for our honeymoon. I am almost more excited for our first vacation together as a married couple than for our wedding!

What are some of your favorite wedding planning blogs and tools?

Of course I am constantly on The Knot.com but I have found a lot of inspiration on WeddingbyColor.com and Off Beat Bride. Even if a wedding is completely different than yours, you can still get amazing ideas. I also love the classifieds on Wedding By Color.

Is your husband-to-be helping with the planning?  What are his jobs?

Ben has been a tremendous help. Every time I ask him if he likes an idea he says "NO". When I ask him what he would like to do instead he says "I don’t care". We dance in circles like that all day. Don’t even get me started on the whole "picking a tux" thing.
Ahhh, the joys of planning a wedding.

What is your best advice to brides who are currently planning their wedding?

Everyone is going to have an opinion and have something to say. Ignore it all and do what YOU want.

Are you planning to see each other before the ceremony for photos?  Why or why not?

Yes. I am a very practical person. If Ben and I take our pictures after the ceremony, our guests will have to wait hours. Why not take the pictures before? After all, he is the one who picked out my wedding dress!

Yes, I did actually take my fiancé dress shopping with me and no I don’t regret it. After all, his opinion matters most to me!

What are 3 words that describe how you feel right now?

HOLY CRAP I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO!
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
